THE PULSE OF TRADITION. By Benitah Maria Namuddu

Image
At the Lugogo Cricket Oval, the air was alive with rhythm, color, and movement during the Kadodi Carnivala celebration rooted in culture and community.                               How it started  The beat started softly, then built into something impossible to ignore. Feet struck the ground in sync, bodies moved with purpose, and the crowd leaned in, drawn by the energy. This wasn’t just dance it was identity unfolding in real time.             A great time was had ( kadodi dance) Kadodi, with its deep cultural roots, carried more than sound. It carried stories of heritage, of people, of traditions that continue to thrive despite time. In that moment, culture wasn’t something to be explained. It was something you felt in your chest, in the rhythm, in the unity of everyone present.  In a fast-moving world, moments like this remind us of where we come from and why it still ...

KIND OF HEROISM By. Benitah Maria Namuddu

Image
In Gayaza, there were no loud cheers or grand stages just people seated, arms extended, choosing to give something deeply personal to save a life. The process looked simple, almost ordinary.                         Giving blood, giving hope But within those moments, something powerful was happening. Each drop of blood carried hope the chance for someone, somewhere, to see another day. It’s easy to think heroism has to be dramatic, but here, it was quiet. It was in the willingness to show up, to care for strangers, to give without expecting anything in return. These are the moments that remind us what humanity truly looks like not in words, but in action. Because sometimes, the greatest impact comes from the simplest choice to help.

Women Redefining politics. By Benitah Maria Namuddu

Image
Women no longer waiting to be invited into the room they’re walking   in            This   is  a new chapter quietly unfolding . For years, politics in Uganda often felt like a space women had to fight hard just to enter. But now, something is shifting. More women especially young, educated, and determined are stepping forward, not as spectators, but as participants shaping conversations that affect their lives and communities. You see it in moments like this: a woman walking side by side with her peers, not behind them. Focused. Composed. Visible. Across institutions like Electoral Commission of Uganda and within different civic spaces, the presence of women is becoming harder to ignore. From student leadership to national platforms, they are raising their voices on issues that matter—education, healthcare, employment, and representation itself. But this rise isn’t without resistance. Politics remains a tough a...

Sweet Little Moments By: Benitah Maria Namuddu

At CJs, it wasn’t about anything big or dramatic just a quiet moment, a glass of ice cream, and a pause from everything else.           A glass of icecream to me is therapy  😋  Sometimes, life doesn’t need grand plans or loud experiences. Sometimes, it’s found in the simple things the first spoonful, the sweetness, the calm that comes with just sitting and being present. In a world that’s always rushing, choosing to slow down, even for a moment like this, is its own kind of peace. Because not every memory has to be loud to matter. Some are soft, sweet, and just enough.

FUEL PRICES ARE TEASING US!!. By Benitah Maria Namuddu

Image
The   price of movement lately: Queues start forming long before the tanks   run   empty . At a glance, the signs at TotalEnergies stations in Kyanja tell part of the story numbers climbing steadily, almost quietly. Petrol edging toward 5990, diesel not far behind. But the real story isn’t just on the price board. It’s in the line of cars stretching out onto the road, engines humming, drivers waiting                               This   is Kampala lately   Fuel has become more than just something you buy it’s something you plan for, worry about, even chase. Across stations like Rubis Energy, the pattern repeats itself: long queues, boda bodas clustered tightly together, each rider hoping to move just a little closer to the pump. In places like Kyanja, the queues don’t just stay within the station they spill out, merging into the already burdened traffic. What starts as a simp...

KAMPALA TRAFFIC!!! By. Benitah Maria Namuddu

Image
The rain had already made its decision before the city did.             Cars parked for almost   two  hours   By the time the first droplets tapped against windshields along the stretch near ISBAT University, Kampala was already tightening into itself. Brake lights flickered on one by one like a reluctant chain reaction until the entire road glowed red. What should have been a quick drive turned into a slow, patient crawl beneath a grey sky. Traffic here doesn’t just happen anymore it builds, it swells, it lingers. From Nakawa through Bukoto, the story feels the same: engines idling, drivers leaning forward in quiet frustration, and boda bodas weaving through the narrowest spaces as if they’ve memorized every inch of the road. The city moves, yes but reluctantly, like it’s carrying a weight it didn’t used to have.                       Traffic   in   Nakawa This is when...

Dressed in white, Felt Right By:Benitah Maria Namuddu

There’s something about an all-white theme that instantly shifts the mood. It’s clean, it’s intentional, and somehow, it brings everyone together in a quiet kind of elegance. Our staff party this year carried that exact energy simple on the surface, but unforgettable in experience. What started as just another work gathering quickly turned into a night of connection, laughter, and presence. Colleagues stepped out of their everyday roles and into a softer, more relaxed version of themselves. Conversations flowed more freely, smiles lingered longer, and for a moment, work titles didn’t matter we were just people enjoying a shared space.    All I see is joy Dressed in white, there was a sense of unity that filled the room. Different styles, different personalities, but one theme that tied it all together. Some outfits were bold, others minimal, but each told its own story. It wasn’t about perfection it was about showing up. The evening felt like a quiet celebration of effort, gro...

More than a look, it's mindset. By Benitah Maria Namuddu.

"Hope, Courage and Change" Sometimes, the smallest gestures carry the greatest weight. A color, a view , a decision they all impact outward, shaping the world in ways we don’t always see. Red isn’t just a color. In that hue, there’s hope, courage, and the voice of a generation that refuses to be silent. It’s bold, yet purposeful, and intentional. Every step towards change matters. It doesn’t have to be loud. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. True power is consistent it’s the quiet determination to act with integrity, to stand for what’s right, and to lift others as we rise. In the face of uncertainty choosing hope is revolutionary. Choosing courage is life changing And choosing to move together steadily and intentionally is unstoppable.
