The Helicopters Above Kampala!!!               Not just noise, curiosity is in the air Lately, the skies over Kampala have felt different. The sound of heavy helicopters passing overhead has become impossible to ignore, especially around areas like Bugolobi and nearby neighborhoods. At first, people paused for a second and moved on. But as the flights continued day after day, curiosity began to spread. Conversations started everywhereon streets, in taxis, at workplaces, and across social media. Everyone seems to be asking the same question: “What exactly is going on?”                                     Posts allover  😕  Some believe it could be routine military activity, while others think it may involve security operations or important government movements. Without clear information, speculation continues to grow, making the helicopters feel eve...

Sand, Water and Sisterhood By: Benitah Maria Namuddu

A beach day to remember 💙 ✨️         A scenery that fades Kampala stress  There’s something about the beach that makes everything feel lighter like the world pauses just long enough for you to breathe, laugh, and truly Live. That’s exactly what this day felt like: simple, joyful, and full of moments worth holding  We arrived to the soft sound of waves rolling in, the sky stretched wide and blue like it had no worries of its own. The sand was warm beneath our feet, and the breeze carried that familiar mix of salt and freedom. My sisters and I didn’t need a plan we just needed the moment.                             Sweet memories 💖 💕  And of course, no good beach day starts without food. Right there, by the shore, we had the kind of meal that tastes better simply because of where you are. Crispy fried fish, golden fries drizzled with sauce, fresh lime on the side every bite wa...

Mama Kits bring smiles to Expectant Mothers in Bushenyi By: Benitah Maria Namuddu

Image
Under the wide blue sky, joy and gratitude filled the compound of a Bushenyi health center as dozens of expectant and new mothers gathered for a special outreach. Our team arrived early, carrying bundles of mama kits, baby blankets, basins, soap, and other essentials that many mothers struggle to afford. For some, these simple items mean the difference between a safe, dignified delivery and one filled with anxiety.                 Giving hope go the new borns Inside the “Normal Deliveries” ward, we met mothers cradling their newborns, some still connected to IV drips. The ward was full but calm, with “Services Are Free” boldly displayed on the wall. Yet “free” doesn’t always mean a mother comes prepared. Many arrive with nothing to wrap their babies in.                                 Joy of a mother Beyond the supplies, we shared health talks on birth preparedne...

WHO IS THE NEXT GUILD? By. Benitah Maria Namuddu

Around Kyambogo University, the energy is shifting as students step forward not just to be seen, but to be heard. With elections set for Wednesday, the walkways are filled with voices, ideas, and quiet determination. They move in groups, reaching out, sharing visions, asking for trust. It’s more than just campaigns it’s young people stepping into leadership, shaping the kind of community they want to be part of.             From lecture rooms, to leadership  There’s something powerful about this moment. Not just the search for votes, but the courage to stand, to speak, and to believe that their voices matter. Because leadership doesn’t begin in big offices it begins right here, in small conversations, bold steps, and the willingness to show up.

THE PULSE OF TRADITION. By Benitah Maria Namuddu

At the Lugogo Cricket Oval, the air was alive with rhythm, color, and movement during the Kadodi Carnivala celebration rooted in culture and community.                               How it started  The beat started softly, then built into something impossible to ignore. Feet struck the ground in sync, bodies moved with purpose, and the crowd leaned in, drawn by the energy. This wasn’t just dance it was identity unfolding in real time.             A great time was had ( kadodi dance) Kadodi, with its deep cultural roots, carried more than sound. It carried stories of heritage, of people, of traditions that continue to thrive despite time. In that moment, culture wasn’t something to be explained. It was something you felt in your chest, in the rhythm, in the unity of everyone present.  In a fast-moving world, moments like this remind us of where we come from and why it still ...

KIND OF HEROISM By. Benitah Maria Namuddu

Image
In Gayaza, there were no loud cheers or grand stages just people seated, arms extended, choosing to give something deeply personal to save a life. The process looked simple, almost ordinary.                         Giving blood, giving hope But within those moments, something powerful was happening. Each drop of blood carried hope the chance for someone, somewhere, to see another day. It’s easy to think heroism has to be dramatic, but here, it was quiet. It was in the willingness to show up, to care for strangers, to give without expecting anything in return. These are the moments that remind us what humanity truly looks like not in words, but in action. Because sometimes, the greatest impact comes from the simplest choice to help.

Women Redefining politics. By Benitah Maria Namuddu

Women no longer waiting to be invited into the room they’re walking   in            This   is  a new chapter quietly unfolding . For years, politics in Uganda often felt like a space women had to fight hard just to enter. But now, something is shifting. More women especially young, educated, and determined are stepping forward, not as spectators, but as participants shaping conversations that affect their lives and communities. You see it in moments like this: a woman walking side by side with her peers, not behind them. Focused. Composed. Visible. Across institutions like Electoral Commission of Uganda and within different civic spaces, the presence of women is becoming harder to ignore. From student leadership to national platforms, they are raising their voices on issues that matter—education, healthcare, employment, and representation itself. But this rise isn’t without resistance. Politics remains a tough a...
